Pay Range: $26.66 – $39.10

Maintains computing environment by identifying system requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring system performance. Responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading servers, OS and software. Ensures appropriate data is backed up. Ensures server/application is secure from unauthorized access. Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software. Manages all activities related to the operations and maintenance of company computers and peripheral equipment. Establishes schedules and procedures for maximum utilization of the system. Analyzes operating instructions and user needs to establish operating procedures and best practices. Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, printers, and peripheral equipment. Participates in company business recovery planning and objectives.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree and two (2 )years’ experience in Information Technology field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Industry certifications preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of network security and auditing best practices.
  • Understanding of Microsoft and Linux PC and server operating systems.
  • Effectively manage workload adjusting priorities as necessary to resolve unexpected issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through either verbal or written formats as well as teach applications to peers and end users.
  • Basic knowledge of networking practices.
  • Knowledge of server hardware, peripherals, and software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft application software (ie: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).

Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:

Valid driver’s license required.

Tasks Performed:

  • 60% Installs, configures and maintains computer operating systems, including servers, peripherals, software and required hardware.
  • 15% Evaluates, recommends and implements upgrades to system. Tracks system usage, including but not limited to disk space, CPU usage and bandwidth. Provides and implements recommendations for optimization.
  • 10% Contributes to and supports regulatory initiatives, including but not limited to Business Recovery planning and IT security.
  • 10% Troubleshoot system related problems and works with Senior level Administrators and hardware/software vendors to resolve problems.
  • 5% Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers
  • Stationary 75% of time or greater
  • Move Objects to Maximum 10 lbs
