We’re hiring a Product Owner to join our Tech and Product Team at EMARKETER.

The Role & Team:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Owner to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Product, the Product Owner will collaborate with the subscriber engineering team and the internal platform engineering team responsible for the CMS systems used by analysts and editors to create content. Additionally, the Product Owner will support the Director of Product in managing the backlogs of both teams, and optimizing the value of the dev teams’ work, ensuring these features deliver maximum value to EMARKETER’s subscribers and internal stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role working from our HQ at One Liberty Plaza 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog for the Subscriber Platform and Internal Platform, aligning with EMARKETER’s business goals and user needs.
  • Assist the Director of Product in managing and refining the backlog of client-facing features, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision and user needs.
  • Work closely with the subscriber engineering team to enhance platform functionality and the internal platform engineering team to optimize CMS workflows.
  • Translate business objectives and user feedback into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with analysts, editors, and internal stakeholders to gather insights and align priorities across teams.
  • Oversee sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of platform and client-facing feature enhancements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the CMS systems and subscriber platform to meet the evolving needs of EMARKETER’s clients and internal teams.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and understanding of editorial workflows.
  • Proven success working with engineering teams in an Agile development environment.
  • Ability to create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and manage a prioritized product backlog.
  • Familiarity with B2B subscription platforms or similar SaaS products.
  • Experience in the media, research, or content-driven industries.
  • Agile/Scrum methodologies proficiency with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar Agile frameworks.
  • Technical understanding to effectively communicate with development teams.
  • Familiarity with the Jobs to Be Done framework or similar methodologies focused on user needs.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $120,000-$130,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
