Job Description Summary
As a Research Associate II, you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and take part in developing multiplex fluorescent immunohistochemistry (IHC) Reagents products for use in cutting- edge research. The desired skillset for laboratory work includes the ability to perform conventional immunohistochemistry (IHC), antibody conjugation, assay development for multiplex fluorescent staining. The candidate will be responsible for antibody validation, staining protocol optimization, and image analysis. In this role, you must be able to perform the following tasks independently: experiment setup and execution, reagents preparation, data analysis and protocol troubleshooting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) staining on tissue sections and perform fluorescence imaging analysis
- Follow the laboratory’s established procedures to prepare, test and evaluate new reagents, and create new protocols if needed
- Mastery of manual and automated staining workflows; ability to teach workflows to team and customers
- Record experimental results of research and development projects in laboratory notebooks
- Report accurate and timely experimental results to accomplish specific tasks and team objectives within project timelines. Provide timely feedback when dates for individual items cannot be met
- Independently design and carry out experiments; interpret and present data during weekly lab meetings
- Work with the team lead to generate documentations for internal and external use
- Follow company policies and safety practices, including training, lab safety, record keeping and ISO or GLP as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills
- BA with minimum 1 year of experience in a laboratory/pathology environment, or MSc in Life Sciences, or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training
- Experience with IHC required
- Experience with image analysis and processing software strongly desired
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment, working on multiple projects with evolving priorities and deadlines
- Highly organized with attention to details
- Excellent information management and time management skills
The hiring range for this position is $70,000 – $90,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
