Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform all onboarding efforts for the Salt Lake City, Utah and Pasco, Washington plant sites, effectively communicating with hiring managers and new hires throughout the onboarding experience, pre-screening requirements, hold orientation sessions and serve as a resource for new employees and current employees.
- Update job descriptions and summaries for current positions
- Lead employee relations, investigations and supporting management in the disciplinary/performance improvement plan process and communicate all employee relations with plant leadership and HR team.
- Recruit for new hires
- Ensure that all new hire paperwork is completed, processed, filed, entered in the HRIS accurately and timely, ensuring payroll has appropriate documentation and information to process the employee’s first check accurately.
- Administer Verdesian’s E-Verify program, ensuring I-9 documentation is in compliance with IRCA
- Perform Verdesian’s Health and Welfare benefit administration to include fielding employee questions, benefits orientation for new employees, benefit related problem resolution, status changes, communicating benefit information to employees and distributing required notices, summary plan descriptions and other necessary paperwork in a timely manner and conduct open enrollment meetings in coordination with insurance broker
- Maintain Company Wellness Initiatives, communicating with payroll any changes in deductions
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable local, state and federal law
- Keep employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion and ensuring proper approvals in coordination with payroll
- Develop and/or deliver training presentations on a variety of HR-related topics
- Process and administer all leave of absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA for all plant employees
- Serve as UKG Pro (UltiPro) Subject Matter Expert for managers and employees to include navigation of the UKG system, Time Management, timesheets and paid time off
- Assist plant leadership with Annual Review process (competency review, goal setting and individual development plan) via UKG Pro
- Oversee employee attendance monitoring and work with supervisors to assure prompt attention to attendance issues
- Coordinate Salt Lake City company functions (Holiday party, company outings, etc.)
- Represent the company for any unemployment claims for plant employees
- Liaison with the Plant management in Pasco ensuring plant employees are receiving pertinent information
- Works with HR team regarding any workers’ compensation claims for the two plant sites, submitting claims and assisting Plant managers and Supervisors with the proper reporting and administration of the program, while maintaining injury and illness records
- Assist with the termination process by completing exit interviews and ensuring that standard procedures are followed with regard to employee terminations to include documentation and the return of company property
- Work with other members of HR team to review and update company policies and procedures, identify issues needing the team’s attention, and referring complex problems to the appropriate leadership.
