Job Description
The Director of the Performance Improvement and Quality Management Department is responsible for the effective and efficient management of all aspects of the Quality and Performance Improvement Department ensuring that all staff is an efficient and effective team. Develops goals and objectives for the department that support the overall goals and mission of the organization. The Director of Quality Management is responsible for coordinating, and facilitating organization-wide Quality/Performance Improvement activities. This encompasses the plan, design, measurement, assessment and improvement of the hospitals performance of important functions that significantly affect the patient outcomes, the costs to achieve these outcomes and the perceptions of our patients and their families. The Director assures adherence to Accrediting and Regulatory Agency Requirements. Conducts periodic needs assessments then expresses educational needs of staff related to Quality/Performance Improvement, confidentiality and documentation requirements. Protects the rights and privacy of patients; ensures that an unauthorized disclosure of patient information without consent is prohibited. Provides feedback and support to the Medical Staff and Clinical Staff as to what constitutes a complete medical record. Safeguards the medical record and its content against loss, damage, tampering, and unauthorized use. The Director of PI and Quality Management is a member of the Management Team.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work or related field preferred. Certification by the Healthcare Quality Certification Board as a CPHQ preferred. Three (3) years’ experience in the Quality Improvement process in either an Acute or Behavioral Health Care Facility preferred. Five (5) years management experience preferred. Previous experience with Joint Commission surveys preferred.
