Job Description

The Service Crew at Tortilla Restaurant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive dining experience for our guests. This role involves taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and attending to customer needs while maintaining a clean and organized dining area. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome customers in a warm and friendly manner upon their arrival.
  • Present menus to guests and provide detailed information about the dishes and beverages offered.
  • Assist customers in making menu selections and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Providing attentive and personalized service throughout the dining experience, anticipating, and fulfilling customer needs.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers and enter them into the POS system.
  • Check dishes and beverages for quality, accuracy, and presentation before serving them to guests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the dining experience, attending to guests’ needs and addressing any issues or complaints promptly.
  • Checking in with customers during their meal to ensure satisfaction and promptly addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Collaborating with the service team to gather customer feedback and suggestions to enhance the overall customer journey.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and serving stations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Prepare and deliver checks to customers, process payments, and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide efficient service and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Upsell additional products and services when appropriate to enhance the guest experience.
  • Attend training sessions and stay updated on menu changes, specials, and promotional offers.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up tables, restocking supplies, and cleaning tasks.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and serving.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and giving change.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays of food or beverages.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and order processing software is a plus.
