Position Summary

We are now looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to be based in Babelegi Factory.

The Quality Assurance Manager will ensure that the Nestlé Quality Systems, encompassing quality control, assurance, and management, are fully implemented maintained and continuously improved in manufacturing operations. Food safety and regulatory requirements are always met, and consistent product quality following Nestlé standards is maintained.

A day in the life of a Quality Assurance Manager:

  • Develop the Quality strategy for manufacturing operations and provide inputs for KPI targets.
  • Plan the implementation of the NQMS in manufacturing operations and monitor / audit its effectiveness.
  • Establish a documented quality management system containing process descriptions, procedures, and responsibility matrices.
  • Establish a transparent and complete system of quality records to demonstrate compliances.
  • Train and develop quality professionals in the QA department and manage resource needs.
  • Promote and develop a quality awareness culture, based on continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate quality related activities with functions in the factory, SQAL, Application groups and Corporate QM.
  • Organize and lead the Quality function in the manufacturing operation.
  • Validate the inspection plans for materials and finished products in manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible for all tests, checks and examinations to monitor the production process, for trending of data for control and improvement purposes.
  • Manage quality failures, food safety issues, incidents, and consumer complaints. Formally review these for own manufacturing units, using root cause analysis and introduce corrective actions which prevent re-occurrence.
  • Prepare and lead the Management Review of Quality in manufacturing operations. Including inputs from the co- manufacturing sites
  • Effectively liaise with officials of standard enforcing agencies, authorities and external parties in the area of quality management

What will make you successful?

  • Diploma/Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry or Food Technology/Science
  • Experience in implementing FSSE 22000/ISO 9001/BRC or any food safety systems.
  • 5 years Quality Management or Food Safety related experience.
  • Must have led a team.
  • FMCG or Pharmaceutical background experience.
  • University Qualification in Microbiology, Chemistry or Food science-related studies, or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead a group of experienced professionals.
  • Management exposure in a factory/ market.
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams and different initiatives.
