Technician

Job Overview: Daily implementation, management, and reporting of all maintenance and technical activities

within the plant while reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

, Duties and Responsibilities,

• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance on all control and automation equipment.
• Responsible for the day to day, planned, scheduled, breakdowns and shutdown maintenance of the plant.
• To ensure that an OEE of between 80% and 85% is always maintained and KPA targets are reached.
• All instruments calibrated in according to ISO and HACCP standards.
• Instrumentation registers (logbooks) updated, and calibrations done to set time intervals.
• Scheduled maintenance of weighing equipment, inkjet coders, and labellers in the plant.
• PLC and SCADA programming, fault finding and backups in place.
• Schedules of plant equipment and CCP’s up to date and recorded on the Pragma system.
• Design and implement improvements.
• Complete maintenance schedules on or before required dates
• Complete preventative maintenance schedules and make use of data to improve preventative-maintenance
• Feedback on job cards and machine history to be accurate and on time
• Maintain a two-way communication with department managers and supervisors
• Provide training to machine operators to service machines during normal production runs
• Ensure that tools are clean and in working order
• Always adhere to the quality and hygiene standards of the plant
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• All maintenance must be done via Pragma system
• Work Standby and must be willing to work after hours if needed.
• Must be able to do reasonable task if needed
• Pro-active with attention to detail.
• Spares for breakdowns and maintenance always available and controlled.
• Project work involvement.
