Job Summary
- This position is responsible for the management and maintenance of the enterprise storage infrastructure of the bank. It covers the required configurations of the storage systems and their connectivity to the target hosts including the definition and set-up of storage-based replication whenever applicable. It is also responsible for the regular monitoring of the covered resources to ensure optimal health, utilization and performance to achieve smooth operation of the IT group. It involves the collaboration with other IT and bank units to maintain data security, availability and accessibility while supporting business continuity as well. It also includes management of storage in cloud.
- This position observes applicable policies, standards, procedures and guidelines of the ITSSG, the Bank and the regulatory agencies such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in the conduct of work.
How will you contribute?
- Handle and process requests for storage-related resources including volume, connectivity, replication and other covered requirements.
- Manage storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage solutions.
- Oversee storage network infrastructure including its maintenance – definition, modification and deletion of required configurations.
- Monitor system performance to ensure smooth operation.
- Provide regular reporting of usage and overall capacity of storage systems.
- Collaborate with other IT units and serve as liaison with the vendor to resolve system issues.
- Handle the initial checking and assessment of reported issues and refer them to proper team for resolution, if needed.
- Handle the coordination with respective vendors for maintenance and upgrades to maintain system security and reliability.
- Plan, configure, and maintain storage hardware and software in coordination with respective vendors.
- Update and maintain documentation for storage systems and procedures.
- Create and implement backup and disaster recovery plans in coordination with concerned IT Units
- Work with security teams and concerned vendors to ensure data is secure and protected.
What will make you successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant knowledge in most of the following:
- IT principles and processes
- Basic knowledge in Contracts/Vendor Management
- Prior experience working as a Storage Administrator or in a similar role.
- Experience managing storage for data centers and cloud-based networks
- Experience with storage hardware and software, including Dell/EMC and Synology.
- Experience with SAN switches, including Cisco and Brocade.
- Strong understanding of storage protocols, such as NFS, and iSCSI.
- Proficiency in backup and recovery software such as Rubrik, Avamar and Networker
- Understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix and VxRail
- Experience with cloud storage such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud
