Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic communications manager to join our firm. This role will be pivotal in crafting and promoting a cohesive narrative that aligns with KSM’s purpose, goals, and accomplishments. The communications manager will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that connect, inform, and engage employees and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will excel in fostering two-way dialogue between employees and leaders, supporting internal departments, and overseeing content related to our employer brand messaging, including the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and recruiting communications.
Responsibilities:
- Internal Communications
- Develop and execute internal communication strategies to connect employees with the firm’s mission, goals, and culture, including writing key messaging, managing communication channels, and implementing tactics
- Collaborate with leadership to promote transparency and two-way dialogue with employees
- Create and oversee internal content that inspires engagement, fosters collaboration, and supports employee satisfaction
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications, and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis
- Help manage KSM’s intranet site, to ensure content is up-to-date and user-friendly
- Employer Brand Messaging
- Lead communication efforts around the employer brand, ensuring alignment with KSM’s EVP and recruitment goals
- Oversee the creation of compelling content that highlights KSM’s culture, values, and career opportunities to attract top talent
- Partner with KSM’s People team to enhance the candidate and employee experience through strategic communication initiatives
- External Communications
- Craft and disseminate external messaging to promote KSM’s accomplishments, thought leadership, and community impact
- Ensure consistency in tone and messaging across all communication platforms, including press releases, newsletters, social media, website, and other external channels
- Departmental Collaboration
- Act as a strategic communication partner to other internal departments, supporting their unique goals and messaging needs
- Develop tailored communication plans for key initiatives, ensuring clarity and alignment with KSM’s overarching narrative and business goals
- Content Development
- Oversee the creation and distribution of high-quality content, including written, visual, and multimedia materials
- Ensure all communication materials are consistent with KSM’s brand identity and voice
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, employee engagement, or a similar role
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing an intranet or website
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Would like submission of at least three writing samples with application**
