Job Description: Procurement Specialist

Role Overview

The Procurement Specialist will coordinate with the Head of Department (HOD) to manage day-to-day activities related to the Procurement Department. This role involves ensuring cost-effective procurement of plant and machinery, engineering materials, and consumables while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with HOD for the closure of day-to-day activities related to the Procurement Department.
  • Responsible for efficient procurement of capital assets, engineering materials, and consumables by inviting and analyzing quotations and preparing comparative statements.
  • Ensure timely closure of indents received from user departments.
  • Develop vendors and negotiate to achieve the best quality and lowest cost propositions from suppliers/vendors.
  • Create and issue purchase orders while maintaining accurate records.
  • Track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and review the quality of purchased products.
  • Prepare monthly reports, MIS, and presentations for monthly reviews, highlighting departmental achievements and driving meaningful transformation for projects.

Required Candidate Profile

  • B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing sectors is essential.
  • Minimum experience of 3-6 years in procurement or related fields.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and intense environment.
  • Proficient in documentation and system adherence within the procurement function.
  • Well-versed in Excel and other relevant procurement software/tools.
