Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Experience working in an education environment is preferred.
- Ability to work with and assist teachers and students.
- Wide range of computer hardware and software experience in a networked environment and a willingness to learn new and emerging technologies as they are introduced to the schools.
- Demonstrate ability to work with staff and students on a variety of technology tools, including productivity suites, learning applications, and web-based software.
- Demonstrate organization skills with attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in children.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to physically lift and carry technology equipment (approximately 40 lbs.)
Reports to: Principal and his/her designee
Supervises: Students as needed.
Job Goal: To help provide a well-organized, conducive environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program, instructional materials, and technology.
Job Performance Responsibilities
- Provide first-response technical support, including testing and troubleshooting workstations, laptops, printers, SmartBoards, iPads, Chromebooks, audio systems and other peripherals.
- Maintain all files, backups, report print-outs, and technology inventory.
- Complete all beginning and end-of-year technology procedures.
- Help manage mobile devices and keep them ready for student use.
- Assist with school website and Parent Portal.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot software applications, being conscious of software requirements, license restrictions, and end user needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Assisting front office personnel, as needed.
- Work with other technology staff to maintain optimal network performance and security.
- Participate in meetings as required, offering insight and direction to the use of technology as it relates to the district’s technology plan
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Terms of Employment: 190 day contract, S5 Salary Schedule, 7 hours per day Employment: Non-Exempt position.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
