Job Description

The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (Department of Education) is seeking an experienced regulator for the position of Director, Regulation within an energetic and highly committed leadership team.

We are looking for great administrative decision-making skills, strong leadership ability, a passion for innovation, and the motivation to drive improved outcomes for children in early childhood education and care services in Queensland.

About The Role

As Director, Regulation, you will lead a team in the delivery of best-practice risk-based regulation, ensuring high quality decision making and driving continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Developing, implementing and evaluating frameworks, systems, tools and processes to ensure consistency, fairness, efficiency and effectiveness in regulatory practice.
  • Implementing effective processes for work planning, resource allocation and prioritisation of regulatory effort based on an intelligence- and data-led assessment of risk.
  • Providing oversight, guidance and support to ensure high quality regulatory decision-making, as well as leadership for high risk and complex matters.
  • Providing expert independent analysis and advice to the Minister and senior officers.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Regulatory Authority and forming strategic networks with other government departments and agencies.
  • Driving a culture of effective stakeholder engagement with the early childhood education and care sector.
