Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist is a key team member and strategic partner with primary responsibility for managing employee relations, administrative/project-based priorities, enforcement of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs. At this level, the ideal candidate is well versed in a variety of human resources disciplines and also commands a solid understanding of the technical principles, interviewing techniques, critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills, and legal frameworks governing the investigation process. NVISION is on a growth path and this role will assist with the initial visit and onboarding of new acquisitions.
- Conduct workplace investigations. Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
- Manage all paperwork and employees on FMLA, CFRA, and PDL etc.
- Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Assists with disciplinary issues as well as termination meetings, and conduct exit interviews, gathering trends to identify new opportunities.
- Help managers create meaningful job development plans to build the skills of existing employees.
- Coach managers to effectively provide feedback and to help grow people leadership skills as well as provide coaching to managers on writing and conducting effective goals and/or evaluations.
- Assist leaders with decisions regarding compensation increases and bonuses and facilitates the roll-out of annual performance processes in collaboration with Admin and Finance teams.
- Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements.
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
- Develop and maintain talent management processes.
- Prepare and maintain company salary structure, job documentation, and job evaluation systems.
- Manage all administrative aspects of the company’s leave programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
- Assist with the initial visits and onboarding of new acquisitions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Multi-State Human Resources experience a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Human Resources, HR Certificate and/or PHR, SHRM-CP or equivalent preferred or appropriate combination of education and experience
- 4+ years of Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity or experience in specialist areas of Training and Development and/or Health and Safety preferred.
- Must have broad knowledge of labor laws, Federal and California State regulations, compliance and policy formation
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships
- Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change
- Ability to use computer; Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of, including but not limited to, MS word, MS Office, Outlook and Excel
- Strong skills in the application of investigation interviewing techniques
- Flexibility; schedule may fluctuate and include nights and weekends on occasion
- Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines
- Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
