Job Description

Objective: The principal objective of the post is to drive student attraction to RCSI Bahrain through a focused and professional development programme and manage the associated activities of the student journey through this process. Whilst driving continual process improvement throughout the department and university.

Reports To: Student Recruitment and Admissions Manager

Repartee’s: Student Recruitment Specialist team, Front of House Team

Key interfaces: Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions, Academic Director of Admissions, Managers; Marketing, Communications, Alumni Relations, RCSI Bahrain staff, RCSI Dublin ASR team, 3rd Party service providers. T his position requires a high degree of cross-functional liaison other internal depts.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Attraction

  • Implement student attraction plans for all programmes offered by RCSI Bahrain in consultation with the Student Recruitment and Admissions Manager and the relevant internal stakeholders (Dublin and Bahrain).
  • Attend appropriate school/careers conventions/ fairs and other recruitment events in the University’s target markets within Bahrain, GCC and beyond as required.
  • Support campus tours and school’s visits to the University in support of recruiting of future medicine and nursing students.
  • Support the Student Recruitment Manager to build meaningful and long-lasting relationships with key schools and government bodies across the Middle East region, through the planning, organisation and co-ordinating of international and local school visits, events and activities ensuring a strong pipeline of both sponsored and privately funded students.

Marketing

  • Work with the Marketing & Communications Managers to ensure that all marketing collateral represents RCSI in the strongest possible light and that it is up to date at all times.
  • Engage with students, parents and school career counsellors and ensure they are fully conversant with the RCSI offering.
  • Support the updating of the University website information.

Team Lead

  • Oversee all members of the Student Recruitment and Front of House team.
  • Develop a platform of engagement and alignment with the admission team.
  • Acts as a deputy for the Manager when required including providing updates and reports to senior management, attending committee and management meetings if required.
  • Liaise with the relevant external stakeholders such as RCSI Dublin, Student Recruitment Agencies, IT systems providers, government bodies etc.
  • Making full justified recommendations on matters such as new markets for students and entry requirements for programmes.

Processes and Compliance

  • Ensure the efficient, effective and smooth execution of all student recruitment processes.
  • Ensure the continuous monitoring and improvement the student recruitment process.
  • Deliver a best in class experience for potential students across all points of contact.
  • Ensure that all RCSI and RCSI Bahrain policies and procedures are adhered to.

Others

  • The role involves around 8-10 weeks of travel outside of Bahrain during the Academic year.
  • Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time.
  • Representing the best interest of RCSI and RCSI Bahrain at all times.
  • Representing RCSI in global markets as part of the student recruitment drive and activities.
  • Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time.

  • A qualification in business management or equivalent through education or experience.
