The opportunity – Te t?ranga

As Daily Editor reporting to the GM Digital News & Content, you will be lead the delivery of breaking, rolling and daily news across all our shows and platforms, with a focus on digital first coverage (1News.co.nz and News on TVNZ+). To set the editorial agenda for 1News every day and jumpstart our newsgathering efforts in the morning and throughout the day. Ensure all 1News platforms and programmes get the latest news to our audience first, quickly and to a high standard.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following

• A qualification and/or extensive experience in journalism
• Organised and knowledgeable about what resources are required to produce a story across platforms.
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Confidence to make calls on where resource should be deployed.
• Calm under pressure.
• Understanding of media law and editorial standards
