About The Role

As a Global Investigation Analyst for Threat Assessment and Intelligence in our Financial Crime Intelligence team, you’ll be part of the team that works with industry, law enforcement and government partners on complex investigations and disseminates actionable intelligence to improve ANZ’s capacity to respond to current and emerging criminal threats. FCI’s ability to obtain and analyse information from various sources gives it unique intelligence collection and assessment capabilities. It’s these capabilities that enable FCI to inform and provide critical contributions to operations and strategies to combat serious crimes.

Work Hours: Day Shift, M-F, 50/50 Hybrid Work Set-up after the training

What will your day look like?

As a Global Investigation Analyst will be accountable for:

  • Conducting analysis of customers suspected of financial crime and disseminate findings to Compliance and Operational stakeholders. Findings also disseminated to in-country CEOs and CROs for extreme risk matters.
  • Identifying risk and control deficiencies and make recommendations to mitigate financial crime risk to the Business.
  • Aligning and adhering with ANZ Group governance policies, processes and standards and with external regulatory requirements.
  • Managing risks through Financial Crime processes
  • Reporting and providing advice on financial crime matters to stakeholders to ensure that they are informed and can make appropriate decisions.
  • Maintaining an intelligence database to keep abreast of any issues which need addressing.
  • Maintaining repository of financial crime filter management additions, cancellations and approved payments.
  • Identifying opportunities for the business to minimise losses that were the result of breaches of policy or unlawful acts by customers and ANZ employees.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing among Financial Crime teams, to continually raise the quality of intelligence sources (both within Australia and Globally)
  • Promoting an environment that fosters mutual understanding of ANZ risk culture and business practices

  • Exceptional written and spoken communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to create clarity for self and others through uncertainty
  • Financial Crime risk management or compliance experience
  • Ability to translate complex information and provide advice on solutions to problems
  • Sound product and systems knowledge
