  • Compensation is based on tenure. Shift differentials are offered for evenings, nights, and weekends depending on what package an individual is on.

1st Shift is 6:30am-2:30pm with rotating weekends and 2nd Shift – 2:30pm-10:30pm with rotating weekends

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate).
  • Provide direct resident care such as assisting with bathing, eating, dressing, toileting, bed turning, walking residents, and taking care of incontinent needs.
  • Change bed linens.
  • Record the amount of oral intake and measure urinary output.
  • Supply and empty bedpans, collect specimens for tests and perform specimen tests.
  • Transport residents and equipment as needed.
  • Monitor residents and report any variances to normal to the nurse for further assessment.
  • Follow infectious disease precautions to prevent the spread of organisms.
  • Must assist with the evacuation of residents.
  • Participates in departmental, all-staff, and on-the-job in-service programs, as scheduled.
  • Prepares rooms for residents upon admission, following admission guidelines.
  • Reports all complaints and grievances made by the resident to the Charge Nurse.
  • Informs Health Care Nurse of supply needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified by Indiana as a nurse assistant.
  • Must have sufficient strength to turn, lift, and assist patients with movement and be able to lift, push, pull and move 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to be on call and to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends or holidays when necessary.
  • Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, or hostile people.
