Job Description

Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), one of the world’s largest real estate investors, seeks a dedicated leader as Global Head of Real Estate.

Real Estate is an established asset class within NBIM, managing both listed and unlisted investments under a unified strategy. The current investment mandate ranges from 3-7% of fund value, or :50-120 billion USD.

As Global Head of Real Estate, you will lead the department and be accountable for the combined portfolio, reporting to the Co-Chief Investment Officers – Active Strategies.

The position is London-based with travel requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Lead and inspire a global team of :45 professionals to execute the fund’s Real Estate strategy and build a high-performance culture
  • Be accountable for the combined Real Estate portfolio, including listed and unlisted investments
  • Present investment opportunities to NBIM’s Leader Group and its Executive Board, where needed, supported by rigorous analysis
  • Drive strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including investment partners, joint venture relationships and global industry leaders
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across NBIM to advance best-practices

Qualifications (heading)

  • Advanced degree with strong academic credentials
  • 15+ years of Real Estate investment experience with proven track record across market cycles
  • Experience managing large-scale diverse global portfolios across property types and investment structures
  • Exceptional leadership skills that attract and develop top talent at all levels
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with experience in managing relations at C-suite level
  • Strategic mindset combining decisive and collaborative leadership
  • Commitment to long-term value creation for Norway’s future generations
