The central finance team plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth financial operations, including both financial and management reporting, supporting Centacare’s vital mission.
About The Role
The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance team by performing key accounting duties, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes. This role is responsible for accurate data entry into the general ledger, bank reconciliations, and maintaining financial records across multiple databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter data into the general ledger in a timely manner.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash management.
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations for review by financial accountants.
- Maintain and update Fixed Asset records.
- Respond promptly to queries, ensuring high levels of customer service.
- Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Support the Accounting and Finance team with additional duties as required.
Key Deliverables
- General ledger and financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Bank accounts are reconciled promptly, enabling effective cash management.
- Data integrity is maintained across financial systems.
- Fixed Assets register is current and accurate.
- Superior customer service is provided to all stakeholders.
- Workflow efficiencies are achieved through innovation and continuous improvement.
