Nomad have a great opportunity for a Junior Security Analyst to join our global Information Security team. The Junior Security Analyst role will work with the Information Security Team in helping deliver customer facing security monitoring and services to Nomad Digitals customers. The role is responsible for the operation of Nomads Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) system and intrusion detection systems, providing information security incident and request management, implementing best practice, producing evidence of compliance against security frameworks, local and legal regulations across the companys customer facing systems. Being a point of contact for Nomad customers and their security issues, findings, and queries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce management reports based on SIEM activity highlighting activity trends across Nomads systems
  • Analyses incident trends and proactively look for solutions to reduce support tickets
  • Maintain and develop Nomads vulnerability management system, review CVE libraries and review vulnerability status such various vulnerability assessment tools
  • Assist with the coordination of security audits and the produce reports
  • Work with other members of the team to complete tasks and objectives on time and within scope to ensure all of the team is fully supported and departmental goals are reached.
  • Proactively identify and exceed customer expectations to ensure a customer-focused service is always provided
  • Perform regular system audits across Nomads customer related systems, products and services
  • Work closely with others Nomads Information Security Team to improve Nomads ISO 27001 compliance by owning and driving security improvements/best practice and evidence continually improvement
  • Manage scheduled vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and security assessment on production fleets and test environments against the agreed scope.
  • Work alongside Nomads customer facing Service Desk teams to oversee information security tickets through Nomads service management lifecycle (incident, problem and change) and coordinate investigations into security incidents, produce incident reports and maintain the data breach register
  • Day to day management of Nomads Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) systems

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Degree in computer science or engineering .
  • Good and demonstrable Linux knowledge and experience
  • Good networking knowledge
  • Basic programming and/or scripting knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project.
  • Knowledge of current trends in information security
  • Formal information or cyber security qualifications are desirable
  • An understanding of security standards such as ISO27001, knowledge of EN62443 would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working with security solutions including IDS and SIEM
  • An understanding of network and web related protocols (such as TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, and routing protocols)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable teamwork skills and resourcefulness
  • Experience of vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus
  • Knowledge of Mobile communications systems or railway technology would be advantageous
