Barbaricum is seeking a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC-I) to support government training programs across a variety of locations in the United States and overseas. This role will require frequent travel and fieldwork in dynamic environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to government and military personnel at Special Tactics Group (STG), Special Tactics Squadrons (STS), and other AFSOC units to train, organize, and equip personnel for operational deployments.
- Deliver JTAC instruction and training in classroom, simulator, practical exercise, and field conditions.
- Track JTAC progress and maintain training documents in both printed and electronic formats.
- Conduct program management functions, including tracking, reporting, briefing, and forecasting training requirements.
- Facilitate JTAC, JTAC-I, and JTAC-SEE training, proficiency, and upgrade requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate range and fires assets for training, including briefings and inter-organizational coordination.
- Support or conduct no-notice evaluations for JTAC trainees, instructors, and evaluators.
- Establish and maintain JTAC academics, programs, and training folders while delivering instruction in Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environments.
- Provide emergency response, including accident reporting, evacuation advisories, and incident investigation support.
- Operate a range of specialized equipment, including Battlefield Air Operations (BAO), SUAS systems, and communications devices.
- Act as Opposing Force (OPFOR) during designated training scenarios and assist with scenario development.
- Conduct weather observations and operate training academics and visual aids.
- Attend conferences, symposiums, and meetings to stay informed on JTAC-related developments.
- Frequently travel to austere locations with limited infrastructure to deliver mission outcomes.
Qualifications
- Must have possessed JTAC-I and/or JTAC-SEE rating within the last four (4) years.
- Minimum of two (2) years of SOF background or experience augmenting SOF as a JTAC for at least two cumulative years during operational deployments.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining JTAC-related equipment, including SUAS systems, communications devices, and night vision equipment.
- Familiarity with SRMS, CAS procedures, and range safety protocols.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Current SECRET clearance required with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance (current TOP SECRET clearance preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office automation tools.
- Certified Range Safety Officer (RSO) or willingness to obtain certification.
- Frequent travel required, including international deployments.
