Work Environment: Monday-Friday 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Job Summary

The Stacker is responsible for grading and stacking random lengths of cut stock as it comes off the line. Stackers will stack boards on pallets for 2×4’s or longer lengths, band pallets, and check piece counts

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Grade blocks of wood coming off of the line.
  • Stack wood on pallets while keeping an accurate piece count.
  • Band completed units.
  • Communicate with the Tally when units are banded and ready to be tagged.
  • Ability to work in and support other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stress and pressure.
  • Ability to work as a team.

Physical Demands

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
