What we are looking for

Strong logistics management experience within the humanitarian sector, with a strategic outlook and analytical capability.

Must possess strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills as well as strong negotiation and people management capacity.

What You Will Do

The purpose of the Logistic Manager is to be responsible that the logistic set up is according to NRC standards and to support programme/project implementation.

In this position you will:

  • Ensure the timely delivery of logistics support services to all NRC Lebanon Projects.
  • Implement and ensure compliance to NRC’s logistics system guidelines, policies and procedures as well as donor requirements.
  • Initiate and maintain necessary leases, licenses and contracts with relevant authorities and suppliers.
  • Manage the logistics team.
  • Provide training and support to line managers and staff with logistical responsibilities. Ensure an anti-corruption focus on procedures and trainings.
  • Contribute to program and project design, including budget development and preparation. Follow up and manage allocated budget lines.
  • Oversight and coordination of market analysis by logistics staff to support project modality decisions with analysis of the functionality and accessibility of markets local to target populations.
  • Provide audit and control checks within the country to ensure compliance to the logistics handbook and donor requirement.
  • Setup key performance indicators for all aspects of logistics activities and provide regular review, analysis and reporting against performance.
  • Active participation in the coordination forums in the country (LHIF, Logistics cluster, HULO…) and liaison with other organizations’ Logistics departments
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.

What You Will Bring

Generic professional competencies:

  • Minimum 3-5 years senior level logistics management experience or equivalent position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Experience of data collection, analysis and report writing
  • Knowledge of market analysis tools and approaches
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal

What We Offer

  • Duty station: Beirut, Lebanon.
  • Contract: 12 Months Fixed-term, renewable based on performance, funding, and the need for the position
  • Travel: 30%
  • Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC’s national salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
