THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly experienced Category Director/Head to lead and drive the strategic growth of our clients dairy division. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep industry expertise, a proven track record in both B2B and B2C markets, and exceptional leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the performance of the dairy category across diverse markets.
- Business Development: Identify growth opportunities, build robust business models, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders in both B2B and B2C environments.
- Marketing Strategy: Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to strengthen brand positioning, drive consumer engagement, and increase market share.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing cross-functional teams to achieve category goals and deliver business results.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., operations, supply chain, sales) and external partners to ensure seamless execution of category strategies.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to anticipate challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee category budgets, pricing strategies, and profitability targets, ensuring sustainable growth and cost optimisation.
Requirements
- Minimum 20 years in the FMCG sector, with at least 15 years in the dairy industry
- Extensive exposure to both B2B and B2C business models.
- Strong background in marketing, business development, or a related strategic function.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage complex projects, and influence stakeholders across all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement long-term growth strategies for a competitive market.
- In-depth understanding of the Middle Eastern FMCG market, including consumer behaviour, regulatory environment, and cultural dynamics (desirable).
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance strategic priorities and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA desirable
- International experience in diverse and multicultural environments.
