Job Description

We’re looking for a talented and passionate Director of Legal to join Caf’s leadership team.

As the Director of Legal, you will be responsible for leading the legal department, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, providing strategic legal guidance to the company, and mitigating legal risks. This role requires a systemic understanding of the business and the ability to navigate complex legal challenges both nationally and internationally.

What You´ll Do

  • Oversee all legal matters, including international corporate governance, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior management to support business decisions and minimize legal risks.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage the lifecycle of agreements, including drafting, reviewing, renewing, and terminating contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with international, federal, and local laws, as well as industry-specific regulations.
  • Manage disputes, litigation, and relationships with external counsel when required.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to optimize legal processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee legal risk assessments and provide proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment between legal objectives and business strategies.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and advise on potential impacts to the business.
  • Build and lead a high-performing legal team, providing mentorship and fostering professional development.

What You´ll Need

  • License to practice law (OAB) active or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience in legal leadership roles, preferably in technology, fintech, or related industries.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory).
  • International transaction and corporate experience.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors and C-Level executives.
  • Spanish is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law, corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in an international business environment.
