Job Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates and performs administrative activities and assistance in CJA Registration Unit. Assists with programs in implementation, interpretation and support of the Training Act and Training Regulations governing law enforcement training and certification in South Carolina.
- Review and Process documents submitted electronically for completeness and correctness.
- Data Entry, ensuring entry of information is accurate.
- Coordinates registration, admissions, and training compliance support for Basic and Advanced Training courses. Creates, maintains, and monitors training course files, student data, tracking system and training schedules. Monitors agency requests for advanced class registration; accepts, confirms, and assigns students to a training class; maintains and monitors class files and training files and records, adhering to and in accordance with CJA records retention policy. Prepares class packets to be delivered to assigned course instructor; packets to include class evaluations, updates and reconciles registration forms and enters or makes changes in Acadis to reconcile officer files, and class session information. Creates the final class roster, assign housing, and enters class grades to graduate the class upon completion.
- Directs and assists SC Agencies in an advisory capacity regarding regulation and administrative procedures to ensure compliance and enforcement of the SC Training Act and Training Regulations.
- Cross trains and assists other employees, if needed.
- Formulating reports, correspondence and executes special projects when tasked by the Administrative Coordinator or General Counsel.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Candidate must have a high school diploma/GED and four (4) years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree will substitute for experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in ACADIS.
Additional Comments
- Ability to type 40 – 45 WPM. Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Oulook. Must have excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance for CJA. Operates under general supervision as needed/requested. Independent thinker that can resolve problems by referencing the SC Training Act and the Training Regulations.
- Private work area. Busy but positive work environment. Must be organized and detail oriented. Little to no travel.
