About the Job:
The Business Intelligence Analyst will be passionate about leveraging technology in order to extract and share data-driven insights. They will be self-motivated and results-oriented and possess the ability to prioritize workload, juggle multiple tasks, work independently, and adhere to deadlines within a collaborative, team environment. The Business Intelligence Analyst is ready to share their experience to push the BI organization to the next level of success.
This position will ensure the successful transmission of data from both internal and external systems, validation of the received data, and creation of operational data models from multiple data feeds for on-demand reporting. The Business Intelligence Analyst will establish controls to ensure the validity of the data and develop processes to automate these tasks.
What You’ll Do:
- Requirements Gathering/Documentation
- Process reporting requirements from various business groups and users. Understand the bigger picture and be able to probe beyond the stated request to really understand the needs and value of information
- Responsible for maintaining data lineage for elements in the reporting environment
- Responsible for data profiling, design documents, and defining KPI logic
- Analytics, Insights and Reporting
- Drive rapid prototyping and design for analytics and data products
- Translate broader business initiatives into design objectives and ensure data is available and explainable to support measuring and optimization of goals
- Create rich visualizations to communicate complex ideas to business leaders and make data-driven stories come to life through visuals
- Provide technical and administrative support for enterprise analytics
- Mentors customers and business analysts on analytics integration principles and best practices
Qualifications You’ll Need:
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Mathematics, Business, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of related experience
- Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills
- Structured thinker and effective communicator, comfortable with interacting with customers
- Expert Knowledge of SQL databases and SQL in at least one of the following environments: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL required.
- Experience working with Microsoft Power BI
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing / Data Lake / Business Intelligence strategies and architecture
- Experience Designing, modeling, and implementing data solutions to meet the business needs
Great to Have:
- 2+ years of progressive experience in a data services role within the financial services industry
- Experience in multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models, “slow-changing” dimensions/attributes, etc.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure stack: Data Factory, Logic Apps, Power Apps, API Management, Audit Logs, etc.
- ITSM/ITIL Foundational knowledge
- Experience in systems conversion and related data/process requirements
