The Planning Manager Airports responsible for leading and delivery of operational, transformational and strategic resource planning services. As the planning lead for the region, you will work across our customer service departments and deliver the workforce planning outcomes through identifying and implementation of resourcing efficiencies, managing cost within forecast, resource planning and budgeting and meeting group KPI’s, the provision of insights and influence needed to drive ongoing optimisation of rostering and resource deployment across the region, identification and of improvements and which create a more engaging experience for our people and ensuring compliance and adherence to EBAs of our workforce planning processes.

Reporting to the regional Head of Airports, you will lead strategic planning for the region, holding strategic portfolio and lead national Airports programs related to workforce utilisation, planning and effectiveness of the region, and as part of the broader national planning function. This role is a critical Industrial relations lead for the port, leading union and staff interactions and consultations with respect to resourcing matters and often national programs, as well as the recruitment lead for the region, anticipating forecasted requirements with support from WFP and ensuring the region is set up for success.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Have

  • Significant experience in a strategic workforce planning role or similar
  • Previous experience leading through peer and matrix relationships
  • Experience managing a large cohort
  • Strong business partnering skills including the ability to build strong relationships, support partners with actionable insights and constructively challenge where appropriate
  • The ability to think ‘big picture’ – using experience and conceptual ability to cut through complexity and bring new ideas to the business
  • The determination to succeed and a track record of achieving targets
  • Working knowledge of industrial relations practice and human resources policies and procedures
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • A proven record of successfully managing change and implementing continuous improvement activities
  • Management experience in an operational environment
  • Concise understanding of all aspects of operational, safety, security and emergency procedures as applicable
  • Broad understanding across all aspects of airline business, with specific airport related experience in operations, compliance, service and product
