PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under direct supervision provide clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the Special Education Assessment Personnel. Assist and support the Assessment staff and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the special education paperwork.
Essential Functions
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, and documents.
Perform general office duties such as copying documents and files, assembling ARD materials, filing and typing.
Keep calendar and schedule of ARD meetings for the building, and communicate ARD schedule with appropriate personnel.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
Produce typewritten and/or computer processed copy – error free, grammatically correct and properly punctuated.
Prepare correspondence as directed.
Make phone calls as directed.
Prioritize and maintain workflow, with follow-up accomplished in a timely manner-demonstrating effective use of time.
Use available resources effectively such as copy machines and computers.
Maintain computer generated special education forms.
Assume responsibility and carry out job requirements with a minimum of daily supervision.
Under own initiative, assist others when necessary and/or appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Experience
One to three years clerical experience, preferred
Requirements
Education / Certification:
High School Graduate or GED equivalency
Special Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in computer/communications technology
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with the public
Ability to follow written instruction
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
