Job Description

Ability to layout and weld pipe together by a combination of, or by single process using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW to specified weld procedures.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training
  • 6G certification from prior employment.
  • 2-5 year’s experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read blue prints and use simple math skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to work as a team
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Knowledge of (GMAW) STT process (surface tension transfer)
  • Knowledge of SMAW 6010 downhill welding

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
  • Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Cleans weld joint or workpiece
  • Operation of overhead cranes
  • Rigging of workpiece
  • Cut pipe to length using oxy-fuel torch or saw
  • Operate mechanical beveler
