About The Role

DC United and Audi Field are seeking an innovative and data-driven Social Media Manager to oversee and grow our digital presence across all platforms. This role is critical to shaping the voice of our brand, engaging fans, and driving awareness for DC United and Audi Field. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for creating and executing social media strategies, managing day-to-day content production, and monitoring performance metrics to ensure the success of digital campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for DC United and Audi Field to grow audience engagement and brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align social media plans with marketing, sales, partnerships, and community initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, platform updates, and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of digital innovation.

Content Creation & Management

  • Plan, create, and post high-quality, engaging, and on-brand content across all platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Manage social media calendars to ensure timely and consistent content aligned with organizational priorities, including matchdays, promotions, and events.
  • Collaborate with the creative and video production teams to produce multimedia content, such as graphics, videos, and GIFs.
  • Develop a distinct voice for each platform that resonates with target audiences while maintaining overall brand consistency.

Community Engagement & Growth

  • Monitor and actively engage with fans, partners, and influencers across all platforms to build relationships and foster a sense of community.
  • Leverage fan-generated content, hashtags, and trends to amplify user engagement.
  • Lead social media coverage during DC United home and away matches, special events, and other initiatives, including real-time updates and live content.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics to evaluate social media effectiveness and inform strategy adjustments.
  • Conduct regular audits of social media accounts to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Utilize social media listening tools to monitor brand sentiment and identify opportunities for engagement or improvement.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing social media accounts, preferably in sports, entertainment, or a fast-paced industry.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and algorithms, with a proven ability to grow audiences and drive engagement.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with an understanding of tone, voice, and audience.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with basic graphic design and video editing software is a plus.

Compensation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience working with a professional sports team or entertainment venue.
  • Familiarity with Major League Soccer (MLS) and the soccer landscape

Compensation

  • Based upon qualifications and experience with an anticipated range of $65,000 – $75,000 Annually
