ATTORNEYS TITLE FUND SERVICES

Summary:

Search and examine title records and create accurate title commitments and other reports in a timely fashion, focusing on complex title orders and assigned projects. Promptly answer member’s questions and resolve complex title problems.

  • Florida title examination experience is required. Out of state candidates may be considered.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge and Fund standards to search title records to identify the records that may affect complex title orders and projects. Utilize mapping skills to identify accurate search parameters for complex title orders and projects.
  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge and Fund standards to organize the search results into an accurate chain of complex title orders.
  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge and Fund standards to examine all the documents in the chain of title for validity based on knowledge of legal descriptions, real property law and The Fund’s Title notes.
  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge and Fund standards to validate that base title is within Fund guidelines, determine how apparent title is vested and what qualifies as an outstanding lien or encumbrance for complex title orders and projects.
  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge and Fund standards to prepare final title products, including the attachment of applicable records and tax information.
  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge and Fund standards to interact with internal and external customers to answer questions, discuss findings and assist in resolution of basic to moderately complex title problems. Effectively coordinate with the underwriting attorneys and member attorneys as required.
  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge to maintain current awareness of laws, regulations and procedures affecting real property and title insurance products.
  • Apply advanced title examination knowledge to continually advance knowledge of searching, title examination and the laws, regulations and procedures affecting real property and title insurance products. Provide mentorship and upon assignment, training, to help them learn to search and examine title and resolve complex title issues.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Senior level, advanced title examination experience is required.
  • Title examination experience in a customer-centric, production environment is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to learn new information and build knowledge over time
  • Ability to plan and organize complex work to meet goals, including occasional project assignments
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to lead and participate in member conferences that may include underwriting attorneys, opposing counsel and members.
  • Ability to identify problems and provide resolutions to complex title issues
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with members, team members and mentors
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive production environment while managing complex orders
  • Ability to mentor others by assisting in training and answering questions.
  • Ability to learn and master software applications
  • Knowledge of The Fund’s customer facing applications is preferred
