Barstool Sports is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Technical Ops Assistant to join our team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our production team by ensuring the smooth operation and setup of various production equipment, assisting with production operations, and maintaining the technical aspects of our media productions.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with the Tech, Studio Operations, and Office Managers on show planning, vendors and equipment selection, and upgrades. Updates to crew database and venue information.
  • Assist with production shoot prep including craft services, securing locations, gear/expendable/supply rentals, and fulfillments including drop-offs/pickups, setting up, etc. whether on site or at office.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment for live and pre-recorded shows, events, and media content. This includes cameras, audio gear, lighting, and editing equipment.
  • Operate and maintain audio/video equipment, lighting rigs, and other technical tools used in the production of podcasts, video series, and live streaming events.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment, ensuring everything is in working order. Coordinate repairs and upgrades as necessary.
  • Keep track of all production gear, ensuring everything is properly labeled, stored, and accounted for. Manage equipment check-ins/check-outs.
  • Assist in the booking of remote and studio shoots on behalf of production from conception to completion.
  • Work closely with Office Manager on ensuring all gear and production equipment/props are organized
  • Assist operations for load in/outs for live events and productions

What You Have

  • 1+ years of production operations experience
  • Ability and willingness to be able to lift large heavy objects
  • Adaptable to ongoing and unexpected change; ability to pivot between multiple projects and departments regularly
  • Willingness to travel on weeknights and weekends and work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, and Google Docs
  • Knowledge of live streaming technologies (e.g., vMix, Tricaster, OBS, Streamyard).
  • Experience with multi-camera and audio setups.
  • Always willing to have a “yes man” mentality to always want be integrated in various projects
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary Range: $60,000-65,000k
