Tech Ops Assistant
Job Description
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with the Tech, Studio Operations, and Office Managers on show planning, vendors and equipment selection, and upgrades. Updates to crew database and venue information.
- Assist with production shoot prep including craft services, securing locations, gear/expendable/supply rentals, and fulfillments including drop-offs/pickups, setting up, etc. whether on site or at office.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment for live and pre-recorded shows, events, and media content. This includes cameras, audio gear, lighting, and editing equipment.
- Operate and maintain audio/video equipment, lighting rigs, and other technical tools used in the production of podcasts, video series, and live streaming events.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment, ensuring everything is in working order. Coordinate repairs and upgrades as necessary.
- Keep track of all production gear, ensuring everything is properly labeled, stored, and accounted for. Manage equipment check-ins/check-outs.
- Assist in the booking of remote and studio shoots on behalf of production from conception to completion.
- Work closely with Office Manager on ensuring all gear and production equipment/props are organized
- Assist operations for load in/outs for live events and productions
What You Have
- 1+ years of production operations experience
- Ability and willingness to be able to lift large heavy objects
- Adaptable to ongoing and unexpected change; ability to pivot between multiple projects and departments regularly
- Willingness to travel on weeknights and weekends and work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, and Google Docs
- Knowledge of live streaming technologies (e.g., vMix, Tricaster, OBS, Streamyard).
- Experience with multi-camera and audio setups.
- Always willing to have a “yes man” mentality to always want be integrated in various projects
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Salary Range: $60,000-65,000k
