Overview

The Group Financial Controller oversees the financial operations within the Gallen Group which comprises of 3 hotels and a bar.

This role ensures financial efficiency, compliance with regulations, and accurate reporting while supporting strategic decision-making to enhance profitability.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements for the group.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts across all properties.
• Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to senior management.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist with the implementation, and monitoring of budgets for individual properties and the group as a whole.
• Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
• Collaborate with senior managers to align operational goals with financial plans.

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.

Strategic Planning

• Partner with the executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across multiple properties.
• Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate training sessions to ensure teams are up-to-date with best practices and regulatory changes.

Operational Support

• Work closely with operational managers to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Monitor and control operational costs, including payroll, procurement, and utilities.

Desired Criteria

• Proficiency in financial systems and hotel-specific software

Required Criteria

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on the hospitality or hotel industry.
• Proven experience managing multi-property financial operations.
• Familiarity with local taxation, labor laws, and financial reporting requirements for the hospitality sector.
