We are looking for a finance professional to join our Jamnagar team for Battery Projects Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity with the Reliance New energy, Battery Business in renewables space. This role will be responsible to ensure tax-optimized and compliant financial transactions for this large-scale battery manufacturing plant setup. The incumbent will validate service or supply commitments, check approval notes and contracts against Indian finance laws (GST, TDS, and contract regulations), and provide periodic MIS for decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Tax-Optimized Transactions- Ensure service and supply arrangements comply with Indian tax laws (GST, TDS, etc.), minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing benefits.
- Validation of Commitments & Approvals – Review approval notes (NFA), LOIs, and pending work orders/purchase orders to confirm adherence to internal controls and statutory requirements.
- WBS Compliance – Verify correct usage of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) codes in service contracts to maintain accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Contract Documentation & Compliance – Validate Quotation Comparison Statements (QCS), Internal Cost Estimates (ICE), and contract conditions (SCC/GCC). Ensure deviation approvals, single-source/nominated vendor awards, and any contract amendments align with company policy and legal standards.
- Vendor Financial Assessment – Conduct financial due diligence for prospective vendors, reviewing solvency, credit history, and risk exposure as required by the Contracts Team.
- MIS & Exception Reporting – Prepare regular Management Information System (MIS) reports, highlighting exceptions such as awarding to L2 vendors with a cost impact, nominated vendors, or deviations from standard terms.
- Cost Control & Offloading Cases – Monitor cost implications of offloading work or material supply to ensure alignment with approved budgets and risk mitigation measures.
- Collaboration & Governance – Coordinate with the Contracts, Legal, and Project Management teams to ensure smooth execution of financial validations under all relevant Indian regulations
Education: CA with 1 to 3 years of experience
