International / English Media Relations – Associate Manager

Job Description
The International Media Relations Associate Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective media relations strategies to promote our brand and enhance our reputation on an international level. The successful candidate will work closely with our executive team and other stakeholders to develop and execute targeted media campaigns that support our business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive media relations strategy that supports the company’s goals and objectives on a global scale
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key international media outlets and journalists
- Work closely with our Geo Commms team to support/plan our international media programme
- Proactively identify media opportunities and pitch relevant stories to the media
- Write/coordinate and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other media materials on a global scale
- Organise and coordinate international media events, such as press conferences, media briefings, and site visits
- Working with our Media Monitoring agency and our Research & Analysis, to monitor and analyse international media coverage to assess the effectiveness of media relations efforts
- Provide media training and support to company spokespeople and executives for international media engagements
- Work closely with other departments, such as BD, Geo’s, institutional relations, and investor relations, to ensure consistent messaging across all media channels
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure the successful implementation of media relations plans on an international scale
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- At least 4 – 7 years of experience in international media relations, preferably in the energy industry or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling press releases, media alerts, and other media materials for a global audience
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key international media contacts
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in crisis communication and issues management on an international scale
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- English as a first language and potentially little Arabic (not a must), reading, writing and speaking. Additional language skills preferred.
