Work you’ll do

We are currently seeking a practitioner with Python, NLP and Machine Learning (ML) experience for an immediate role as a data scientist implementing ML models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and machine learning, with the ability to communicate complex results and findings with our client, to develop deployed models, derive actionable insights from complex datasets, and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Learning and Predictive Modeling: Design, build, and deploy machine learning models.
  • Evaluate model performance and fine-tune algorithms for optimal results. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into production systems.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP): Develop and implement NLP models to analyze and interpret textual data.
  • Extract meaningful insights from unstructured text data.
  • Data Visualization and Reporting: Create clear and concise data visualizations using Python and Kibana Dashboards.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs.

  • Translate complex data concepts into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and strategy.

The GPS AI & Data Engineering offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Active Secret security clearance required
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington DC 4 days per work
  • 3+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • 3+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn), modeling methods (XGBoost, RandomForest), and NLP methods

Preferred:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of Databricks and Elasticsearch.
  • Understanding of government Declassification and FOIA regulations.
  • Project experience in software development and CI/CD pipelines
