We are seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Criminal Lawyer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career lawyer looking to build their career in criminal law with a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in a wide range of criminal law matters, including summary and indictable offences.
- Appear in Local, District, and Children’s Courts.
- Conduct Pleas, Hearings, Intruct in District and Supreme Court Trials, Section 14 Applications, Licence Appeals, Bail Applications and a vast range of other types of criminal and traffic law related matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including submissions and affidavits.
- Provide high-quality legal advice and client advocacy.
- Work closely with senior lawyers on complex cases and trial preparation.
- Occasional travel to country courts and interstate locations.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be:
- A recent graduate or lawyer with up to 2 years post-admission experience (criminal law experience preferred but not essential).
- Admitted to practice in NSW and hold a current practicing certificate.
- Driver Licence.
- Passionate about criminal law and access to justice.
- An exceptional communicator with strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- A team player who is proactive and eager to learn.
