Tasks
As a Research Scientist, you will join the Science Team to leverage our platform for high-throughput calculations
- You will research and develop methods to calculate properties of materials, mainly inorganic solids, using atomistic simulations and thermodynamics modeling.
- Part of your time, you will work in a collaborative project with one of our research partners and communicate results with them
- You will work in an agile way with stringent requirements and timelines
- You stay up to date about current scientific developments in your field
- You ensure a high quality of results and a high standard of documentation
Requirements
- You hold a degree in Computational Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Materials Engineering or similar, ideally with a PhD
- You have a solid background with first-principles calculations and Machine Learning-based methods for materials simulation, ideally across multiple length and time scales
- You have a strong background in solid-state physical chemistry, especially on crystalline solids
- You have a good understanding of CALPHAD methods and thermodynamic simulations
- Fluent in spoken and written English, German skills are a plus
- You live in Munich or want to move to Munich within 3-4 months and are then willing to work ca. 50% of your time on-site
Not required, but a plus:
- You are familiar with quantum computing for materials simulation (quantum computing-based materials simulation & quantum machine learning)
- 3+ years of professional experience outside of a PhD thesis
