  • OXON is seeking an enthusiastic Epidemiologist with experience in observational study designs, to join our dynamic RWE team.Madrid is the preferred location, but we will consider people working in the UK with visits to Madrid every 3 months.To apply, please send both a CV and a cover letter in English to ****** quoting reference: ‘Epidemiologist’ Interviews with shortlisted candidates will be held in January 2025.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Epidemiologist will provide science and project management (with database providers, pharmacoepidemiologists and clients in several countries) and be part of the OXON’s Real World Study Solutions Group.The post holder will lead small teams on single and multi-country database and registry observational studies from start to finish; approaches, bid proposal and defence, study design, protocol, SAP, DM, analysis, interpretation, reporting, publications and presentations.For hybrid studies you will have support from a multidisciplinary team of field epidemiologists, clinicians, statisticians, health economists, qualitative researchers, project managers and CRAs, data managers, EDC programmers (OXON has its own proprietary validated EDC specifically built for observational studies) and pharmacovigilance.The role offers the opportunity to take on responsibility and work in this exciting, friendly, horizontal, flexible, and growing company with a reputation for high quality epidemiology.REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate shall possess: MPH, MSc or Ph D degree in epidemiology or medical statistics.Experience as an epidemiologist in a service provider or pharma company is preferred, but not essential Experience in designing or executing observational studies Three or more years of relevant work experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Fluency in spoken and written English Excellent organizational skills Detail oriented with the ability to multitask efficiently Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively Flexibility and a willingness to respond to the needs of the work Experience in field studies would be an advantage but is not essential The role requires an individual able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and rapidly absorb information in different disease areas and liaise with clients and come up with creative solutions.The individual recruited for this role will have the opportunity to attend courses to further their skills and knowledge and interact monthly with F2 F visits to the Madrid office by an eminent Professor of Medical Statistics from London (100+ NEJM/Lancets, Bradford Hill Medal, extensive experience of EMA and FDA and data monitoring), as well as leading academics at Oxford, for statistical and methodological advice on academic and industry projects.Our ethos is to encourage original scientific thought and innovation so that projects benefit from the best design and execution
