Job Description
To Lead the effective execution of Distribution Plans by tracking and overseeing the Logistics Interaction Centre processes to achieve volume delivery, in alignment with the budget. This is achieved through the effective guidance and management of owner drivers, external contractor resourcing and transport service providers to ensure operations at optimal costing levels.
The role reports to the Country Lead: Distribution Services.
Extent of the role’s involvement in supervision and other team leadership activities
The role has direct reports in the form of Project Specialist: Owner Driver, Primary Distribution Controller, Administrator, Team Leader: Interaction Centre and Logistics Interaction Controller.
Level of interaction within and outside of the company as well as the nature and purpose of the interaction
- Managing and maintaining good relations with the Department of Trade and Industry and Transport department, and or any Government Departments.
- Engage with Regional Distribution Managers, Regional Logistics Managers and Warehouse Managers to ensure the effective execution of the transportation/delivery plans.
- Engage with the Country Lead: Fleet Services to align on Vehicle Manufacturers and finance houses to ensure the availability of best-in-class vehicles.
- Oversee the engagement with the business advisers to ensure owner driver financial health.
- Liaison with Regions to ensure the deployment, allocation, and utilisation of required, accurate and compliant service providers.
- Engagement with Local authorities on Road Safety campaigns.
