Math Teacher
Aga Khan Academies
The position
The Math Teacher will primarily focus on delivering high-quality Math education to students in remote regions via online platforms. The role aims to address teacher shortages in underserved areas globally while ensuring students receive comprehensive, engaging, and effective instruction. Supported by Teacher Assistants in classrooms, the teacher will create meaningful learning experiences tailored to students’ needs.
In addition to teaching, the role may involve contributing to content development, academic research, and teacher training programs based on availability and alignment with the candidate’s expertise.
Core Responsibilities: Teaching
- Deliver structured and interactive Math lessons to students through online platforms and digital tools.
- Coordinate with in-class Teacher Assistants to manage classroom dynamics and ensure effective learning.
- Develop and execute lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote inquiry-based learning.
- Continuously assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing feedback for improvement.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs and ensure inclusivity in instruction.

Content Development

- Assist in creating or reviewing Math teaching materials and resources aligned with the curriculum.
- Collaborate on the development of assessments, activities, and projects that enhance student engagement.
- Academic Research
- Support research initiatives aimed at improving Math pedagogy and integrating EdTech tools effectively.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on teaching experiences for academic studies.
- Teacher Training and PLCs
- Participate in or lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to share best practices with peers.
- Conduct or support teacher training sessions focused on Math teaching methods, as required.
The requirements
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Math (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
Bachelor’s degree in Education (BE.d.) with a focus on Math
Experience
Required:
Minimum 3-5 Years Of Teaching Experience In Math.
Experience with online teaching platforms and digital tools.
Skills
Required:
- Strong expertise in Math subject matter and pedagogy.
- Proficient in using technology for remote teaching.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and Teacher Assistants.
Preferred Attributes
- Demonstrated ability to manage online classroom environments effectively.
- Familiarity with challenges in underserved educational settings.
- Willingness to contribute to additional academic initiatives based on available time and skills.
Working Conditions
Time:
- Full-time role based in Hyderabad, India.
- Online teaching sessions will adhere to the academic calendar and schedules set by the organization and time zone of the students being taught.
- Non-teaching time may involve supplementary responsibilities like content development, research, or training based on need and teacher availability.
