Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to the Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Maintain the site to high housekeeping standards.
- Fulfill responsibilities associated with the legal appointment.
Operations Management
- Manage daily quarry operations, ensuring high standards for quality, output, and processes.
- Oversee and ensure all equipment is maintained and operational as per specifications.
- Plan and manage the quarry’s production and operational activities.
Financial Management
- Achieve financial targets and manage costs according to budget requirements.
Employee Management
- Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct employee training to ensure competency in assigned roles.
Customer Relations
- Ensure customer satisfaction and manage client relationships.
Reporting
- Provide regular, accurate reports and communicate results effectively.
Performance
- Promote a high-performance culture in a high-pressure environment.
Minimum Qualifications
RequirementsQualifications and Experience Required
- Matric (Grade 12).
- A technical qualification (advantageous).
- Blasting Ticket (advantageous).
- Examine and Make Safe (Competent A) certification.
- Must be medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act and company standards.
Experience and Skills
- In-depth understanding of the mining environment and legal compliance.
- Strong knowledge of the legal aspects of quarry operations.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient planning and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Leadership and financial management skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
