Warehouse Manager-Mid-West and Southern Locations

Regular, Full Time

DiVal Safety Equipment, a leader in the Fire, EMS and industrial safety equipment distribution business, is looking for a Warehouse Manager with a “Can Do” attitude. The main focus of this position is to ensure all warehouse locations in the region demonstrate company values, safety requirements and policies and procedures. Duties include overseeing the Operations Supervisors/teammates.

Candidate will support and assist the territory supervisors in maintaining a safe, credible and positive work environment for their satellite locations while reporting to the Regional Warehouse Manager.

Duties And Responsibilities –

  • Always focus on safety – providing a safe working environment for all teammates by enforcing related training and policies for warehouse equipment, vehicles and monitoring unsafe conditions providing documentation, corrective action (if necessary).
  • Oversee daily stand-up meetings are held, and open communication is being encouraged.
  • Train, motivate, and develop the warehouse supervisors to be the future leaders of DiVal through timely evaluations and weekly one on one sessions to build trust and open communication. One on one sessions allow supervisors and teammates to:
    • Provide feedback, understand personal goals and how they align with the company’s goals, a chance for teammates to raise concerns and get them addressed, get to know fellow teammates/supervisors on a more personal level, and strengthens relationships.
  • Ensure shipments on all DiVal vehicles and drivers are adhering to all D.O.T. regulations.
  • Oversee the development of processes to improve our ability to meet our commitments to our customers.
  • Coordinate manpower needs by assisting in the recruiting process, provide training, develop/maintain a cross-training program, assigning and scheduling duties across multiple locations.
  • Communicate job expectations to meet order lead times and cost controls.
  • Encourage staff to call out how they Care More and how they make a difference every day.
  • Maintain warehouse performance metrics and regular communication with the Regional Manager to ensure workload awareness as well as with other DiVal personnel to maximize efficiency and quality on shipments and deliveries.
  • Assist with the investigation of any quality/safety issues that need to be addressed with the highest sense of urgency.
  • Willingly participate in further training and certifications as required to meet the future needs of this position.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as needed including opening and closing duties.

Skills And Requirements –

  • Able to travel as needed.
  • Able to work hands on to fill gaps at each location as needed.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Excel/Word computer experience, AS400 background preferred.
  • Warehouse pick/pack/ship and Inventory experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • 2+ college degree preferred.
