Job Description
A client of ours that is an established Lehigh Valley manufacturing company has an opening for an individual who will lead and oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of perlite insulation within cryogenic systems. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of installation workers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, industry standards, and quality controls, as well as maintaining smooth operational workflows during perlite insulation installation in cryogenic tanks and pipelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervision of Installation Crew:
- Lead a team of installation technicians to ensure timely and accurate installation of perlite insulation in cryogenic systems.
- Assign tasks, manage schedules, and provide on-site training and support to crew members.
- Installation and Quality Control:
- Oversee the proper application and installation of perlite insulation in cryogenic tanks, pipelines, and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Perform site inspections to verify the installation is done according to approved engineering designs and specifications.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for cryogenic work and perlite handling.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times.
- Identify and mitigate any hazards associated with perlite insulation and cryogenic systems during installation. Oversee confined space resources, SMEs on stand-by.
- Project Coordination and Reporting:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the installation is completed within the allotted timeline and budget.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports on the status of the installation, highlighting any potential issues.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve any installation challenges or technical issues that arise during the perlite application process.
- Liaise with the engineering team for technical support if necessary, ensuring quick and effective solutions to prevent delays.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all installations, inspections, and any adjustments made to the original plans.
- Complete installation reports, ensuring proper documentation of the materials used and the work completed.
Qualification
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification in mechanical, industrial, or cryogenic systems is preferred.
- Preferred Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cryogenic systems or industrial insulation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing installation projects.
- Proven experience with perlite insulation installation or similar materials used in cryogenic and low-temperature applications.
- Familiarity safety standards and best practices in cryogenic work, including knowledge of handling cryogenic materials and operating in high-risk environments.
- Experience with confined space rescue services or equivalent is a strong plus.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of perlite insulation, cryogenic systems, and relevant engineering standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment for installation of cryogenic systems.
