Focus
- Manages functional areas effectively that would include demand planning, supply planning, scheduling, materials management, inventory forecasting, and reporting through ERP.
- Leads the development and alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities to achieve business objectives. Determines and maintains desired stocking levels (avoids stock-out and overstock)
- Effectively oversees the coordination of inbound and outbound movement of materials.
- Assesses departmental processes and procedures and strives to continually improve each functional area.
- Selects, maintains, and manages a supplier base that is financially sounds, technically competent and strategically aligned, including supplier standards and measurements.
- Ensures prompt communication with key personnel regarding any major shifts in marketplace activity that may positively or negatively impact the organization.
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of data entry into ERP, resolves order issues, as necessary.
- Ensures collaboration and teamwork and actively engages with staff routinely.
- Manages inventory and ensures company goals are met regarding inventory turns.
- Responsible for managing and evaluating the performance of personnel.
- Develops, implements, and monitors department goals.
- Provides leadership by being actively engaged in work teams or other committees as needed to strive for operational excellence.
- Ensures departmental safety and training as well as overall motivation and effectiveness.
Skills & Experience
- Must possess at least 5 years of applicable experience related to supply chain, continuous improvement, and/or project management.
- Supply management and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with end-to-end supply chain process.
- Ability to understand customers business needs and may be engaged with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving.
- Demonstrates urgency and takes responsibility for addressing critical roadblocks to achieving goals.
- Strong computer skills with experience in MS Office, ERP, and reporting systems.
- Must have experience in being accountable to achieve departmental measures and metrics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university (preferred). Will accept proven applicable experience in lieu of four-year degree.
- ISM or CPSM or other supply chain certification desired.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work inside a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to changing temperatures (hot, cold, humid), moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises.
