Job Title: Art Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Art Teacher to join our dynamic and creative department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring art lessons to students across [Specify Key Stages, e.g., Key Stages 3-5]. They will be expected to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their artistic skills, knowledge, and appreciation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective art lessons that meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and risk-taking.
  • Develop and assess student work effectively, providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Prepare students for [List relevant exams, e.g., GCSE Art and Design, A Level Art and Design].
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities, open evenings, and school events.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Promote and support the school’s values and ethos.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of teaching Art to [Specify Key Stages, e.g., secondary school] students.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for art education.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience of using ICT in the teaching and learning of Art.
  • Commitment to professional development.

Desirable Skills and Experience:
