The Strategic Finance team is looking to make its first Senior Associate/Manager hire to build the function from the ground up. At its core, the responsibility of Strategic Finance is to help the organization and its leaders make good business decisions. The role spans upstream strategy development (solving some of our most complex strategic challenges) to downstream implementation and reporting (ensuring we have the right metrics, reporting, and feed-back mechanisms in place to measure our performance and act accordingly). The Strategic Finance Senior Associate/Manager will report to the VP of Strategy and Finance and collaborate closely with leaders across the organization, both in the corporate team and at our local clinics.

Key Responsibilities:

Company Strategy and Execution:

Strategic deep dives: Tackle our thorniest strategic questions from beginning to end including outlining an approach, conducting necessary research, and proposing + implementing new strategies. Sample topics include: evaluating fit of other physician specialties with the Nira model, designing a clinician compensation plan, prioritizing new service lines, and selecting markets for M&A and De Novo activity

Implementation: Work with the relevant functional areas to translate strategies into actionable plans that drive change in the organization

Communications: Communicate our strategy and business performance to the Board, investors, leadership team, and local clinics

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Reporting: Develop, track, and report key metrics to give leadership visibility into the business; propose actions to improve performance

Budgeting: Build and implement a budgeting process for our individual clinics and overall company by working closely with stakeholders across the organization; investigate drivers of variance vs. budget and partner with business leaders to close the gap

Forecasting: Create rolling forecasts based on in-year performance and emerging trends; model out cash needs to inform the timing of our capital calls. Ensure we always have financial ‘control’ of the business and understand how it is moving

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years in banking, consulting, or a finance/FP&A role at a high-growth organization. Bonus if experience in healthcare
  • Analytical mindset – you like breaking down complex problems into simple pieces to come to an actionable strategy. Must be proficient in excel (and enjoy it!). Bonus if experience in SQL, Business Intelligence, FP&A, and/or accounting tools
  • Impact oriented – you don’t stop at the simple numerical answer. You translate from number to insight and from insight to action and work with others to get it done
  • Clear communicator – you are excited to work with stakeholders across the organization (Clinical, Operations, Pharmacy, Research) and build out a holistic understanding of the business
  • Scrappy – you can wade through complex data, find workarounds when the answer isn’t readily available, and are excited to get your hands dirty. You like building and refining processes over time and seeing regular progress and improvement
