Maintenance Technician

Summary: Under the guidance of the Manager, Residential Operations, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing daily service and maintenance tasks, ensuring optimal property condition and high levels of tenant satisfaction for the designated properties.

What You’ll Get To Do

• Perform service tasks, maintenance, and operations, including but not limited to preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, and regular tours of equipment, systems, and property areas.
• Manage the work order system, perform repairs and services, and ensure all tasks are completed promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and code requirements within the scope of services
• Conduct regular inspections of all operating equipment and systems, as well as daily checks of all common areas to ensure proper functionality and maintenance.
• Liaise and meet with service contractors as required.
• Assist with monthly building inspections.
• Assist Management with quotations for repairs and general purchasing.
• Monitor inventory and maintenance supplies.
• Knowledgeable with Fire safety, HVAC and security systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Minimum 3-5 years building maintenance experience
• Additional educational or trades courses an asset
• Demonstrated basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills
• Knowledge and expertise with general tools
• Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations
• Positive team player who can work readily under own initiative with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to set and exceed established goals, schedules and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong initiative to take direction, apply learnings, and execute requests
• Detail and customer service oriented
